After
all, our community of users and crypto enthusiasts has always been at
the focus of everything we’re doing, so what better way to show
that than to give you a reward simply for holding the token?
In order to participate, you’ll need to hold your NWC tokens on the NewsCrypto mobile wallet (or, in case you don’t use mobile wallets, any other self-custodial Stellar wallet, such as Solar) between August 24th and 31st. To make sure that the airdrop doesn’t go to inactive users, we’ll only take into account the NWC balances that were deposited into the wallets no earlier than August 1st and at latest until August 24 00:00 UTC.
Then,
between August 24th and 31st, we’ll take a snapshot of
all token balances at a random time, and all of the mentioned Stellar
wallets with an NWC balance will receive a portion of the airdrop.
More specifically, every wallet will receive a reward equal to 5% of
the eligible NWC token balance.
Minimal participation amount is set at 1000 NWCs. For
example, if you’ve got 1000 NWC tokens, you’ll receive 50 NWC,
simply as a reward for being a dedicated and active member of our
community! And, since this is for one week of holding the tokens,
this means that the APY is at a whopping 260%!
The
total amount of NWC we’re giving away is 200,000 tokens. In case
this is exceeded, every wallet will receive a proportional share of
the airdrop, but the percentage value in relation to their NWC
balance might vary. Additionally, to encourage the participation of
all community members and not just those with huge balances, the NWC
cap per wallet will be 200,000. So, even if you’ve got more than
200k NWC on your wallet, only 200k will count towards the airdrop.
However, there are no caps on the number of users that can
participate, so your reward is guaranteed!

A total of 465 wallets are eligible for the airdrop. In total, there were 4,344,037 NWC tokens eligible for the airdrop.
The 200,000 NWC rewards pool will be given out in its entirety, and the rewards will be at 4.6% of your eligible balance.
Since we're still going to double-check everything just in case, the airdrop rewards will be distributed by the end of the month, both to all eligible wallets as well as the extra 30 lucky winners of 200 NWC each.
